Offshore Renewable Energy Offering
GEOSHIPS re-inforced its focus on the renewable sector by exhibiting at the RenewableUK Exhibition and Conference held in Manchester in October.
This is in line with the company's aim to initiate a comprehensive brand building campaign to introduce our “approach” to the emerging ORE market, and promote our vessel provision and management services.
In 2010 the SeaHold GEOSHIPS Board decided to re-invest in a contracting mix that concentrated on Offshore Renewable Energy (ORE) specifically with regard to power gathering and transmission. GEOSHIPS offering is based upon direct investment in projects and project execution via deployment of dynamically positioned vessels which are under our direct control and equipped with various types of subsea work spread.
Considering GEOSHIPS as an “investor/contractor” which is willing to participate both in the investment and execution of ORE Development projects of ALL sizes, our biggest challenge is “finding suitable projects to participate in”.
Our key attribute is undoubtedly a capability and willingness to co-invest in ORE projects with the main developers. The SeaHold Group has been involved in investment in marine projects for a number of years and has developed a unique co-investment network in the international PE community, thereby providing the background for the GEOSHIPS business model.
To our knowledge GEOSHIPS is the only company with such an offering, whilst still retaining the ability to support subsea scopes of work through the provision of our vessels and equipment in offshore oil and gas related projects when required.
